Happy Halloween Cake
This Happy Halloween Cake is good for a school, or house party. Small kids will enjoy this cake, because is not scary, it is easy to decorate and fun to do it. You can do it yourself or lets the kids have fun decorating this cake; it will be a wonderful experience for them.
- You will need:
Rectangular cake (or rectangular pan for you to bake it, using a vanilla or chocolate cake on my recipe section)
1 doz cupcakes (cupcake pan to bake 1 doz of cupcakes)
Decorating Bags (18,14)
Decorating Tips ( #2A, #3), # 1G (Decorating Tips for cupcakes
)
Leaf tips #352 or #69
Cake Icer tip #789
Icing (You can make your own using my icing recipe from my recipe section) or you can buy Buttercream icing.
Color Paste (orange, green, red, brown)
- Instructions:
- Bake the rectangular cake.
- Bake the cupcakes.
- Make the Icing.
- Make Icing with the different colors.
- Get Decorating Bags
, cut a little bid the bag to fit the base of the couplers
inside. (the base go inside, and the ring with a tip outside, twisted to lock it in place.
- Use the decorating bag #18, cut a little bid the bag to fit the Cake Icer
tip #789 ) inside and fill with orange icing color.
- Ice sides, and top with orange icing,using the tip on the flat part, then with the Angled Spatulas
spread the icing, giving the pumpkin shape to the cake.
- Use decorating bag #14, and Leaf tips
#352 or #69, with the angled spatula add green icing inside the bag.
- Start piping leaf on top an bottom of the pumpkin, using pressure at the begging and extending at the same time that you release the pressure, making a long bane leaf.
- To the same bag that you are using, change the tip to a #3, and start piping in a swivel curly motion the veins, where you just pipe the leafs, do that on top and bottom of the pumpkin.
- Get a different decorating bag, with tip #2A, and white icing, pipe the eyes.
- Get another bag #14 , put the tip # 2A, with brown icing, start piping the smiley mouth, nose and brown part for the eyes on the pumpkin.
- Change the tip to #3 and pipe the fine part of the smiley mouth, the fine line around the ice and the freckles.
- Get another bag with red color and pipe the tong on the bottom of the smiley mouth.
- Now to work with the cupcakes, put a little amount of icing of the bottom of the cupcake and set them around the pumpkin.
- Use a bag #18 and tip #1G, with the angle spatula fill the bag with three lines of icing inside the bag, one with green, another line of icing with red and the third line of icing with orange.
- Cover the cupcakes with a swivel motion, using the three colors.
